LEARN WORDS THROUGH THE ROOTS

Personality type part 2 

 In the first part of learning vocab through the root words.we have learnt many words based on the Latin root ego and alter ,meaning I or self and other respectively.
In this part, we are going to learn some more personality type .

 1. Like a biochemist studying a colony of bacteria under microscope, you deeply examine your every thought, feeling and action.you are unsocial, yet your greatest desire to be liked by everyone, you are shy and quite, you don't love to be with a lot of people, then you are- An introvert 

 2. You would be great as a teacher, counsellor, administrator, etc. you are the life of party, you are usually happy , you like to be with a lot of people then you are- An extrovert

 3.You have both introvert and extrovert tendencies- at different times and occasions, you are quite normal your personality is liked by most of the people, then you are- An ambivert 

 4. People are no damn good. you hate everyone, you don't care about the life of other , there is no humanity in you then you are-
A misanthrope

 5. women are no damn good sometime in your past you were scorned are deeply wounded by a women, so you hate all women then you are- A misogynist

6.Marriage is an institution- and who wants to live in an institution?you hate marriage, for you members of opposite sex are good as lovers ,room-mates but not as lawful wedded spouses. then you are - A misogamist 

               Origin and related words-
 A. introvert, extrovert, and ambivert are built on the same Latin root,verto means to turn. if your thoughts are turned inwards(intro-)you are an introvert and outwards(extro-) you are an extrovert, and in both directions (ambi-) an ambivert.
The root ambi means both, it is found in ambidextrous- able to use both hands, and in ambiguous- able to be understand in more than one way.

 B.  Misanthrope, misogynist, and misogamist are built on the same Greek root misein, means to hate. a misanthrope hates mankind 
(Greek anthropos -mankind) misogynist hates women    (Greek gyne - women)  and a misogamist hates marriage (Greek gamos- marriage)
Anthropos ,mankind is also found in anthropology- the study of the development of the human race,and in philanthropist- one who loves mankind and works for the welfare of others. it is opposite of the misanthropist.
The root gyne, women is also found in gynaecologist-the medical specialist who treats female disorders. and the root gamos, marriage  occurs in monogamy, bigamy and polygamy.
monogamy is a custom of one marriage (at a time) bigamy two and polygamy many marriages.
